What We Fish For
Chinook Salmon
Chinook salmon are the largest salmon species, known for their size, strength, and delicious flesh. They have a silvery body with a blue-green back and a white belly, and a hooked snout and a deeply forked tail. Chinook salmon spawn in freshwater rivers and streams, and then migrate to the ocean to feed. They are an important cultural and economic resource, and a popular sport fish.
Coho Salmon
Coho salmon are a smaller Pacific salmon species with a silvery blue body and a deeply forked tail. They are anadromous fish that spawn in the fall and die after spawning. Coho salmon are an important food source for other animals and a popular sport fish.
